all done!

Here are a few pictures of the 40 stockings I was able to make for a custom order I had. They were a lot of work, but also a lot of fun! I used a hUgE variety of fabrics, in color, pattern, style, and design.

The lady Iwas able to make them for is going to put them up in a display window for her clothing boutique, located in Georgia. She told me she would send me some pictures when they are all up!

yummy

So I promised to give lots of good holiday gift ideas...and had to share this quick sudsy treat before I hop off to bed. It is strawberry rhubarb soap. Just try and tell me that doesn't sound delicious?! It is from Savor and she has some great soaps, and other body products in her shop. A perfect stocking stuffer if you ask me!

stockings in action

This is a thank you photo that a customer sent me today! An awesome gal from Los Angeles, purchased three of my stockings and was kind enough to take a pic and send it my way! My stockings are in slots 1, 3, and 5. What a beautiful looking holiday mantle huh?

for the boys

Another holiday season is upon us and I have been thinking about gifts for all those on my list this year. For some reason, it is always easier for me to shop for girls and women, rather than boys.
So, I'd like to share a couple darling finds I've come across. Here is a travel wooden toy set by Clickity Clack that is amazing! It locks with a peg to hold everything in place and then opens easily for hours of fun. You have to check out their shop!

I also came across this hand soap in the shape of a grenade by Stinky Bomb. How clever! They have a whole variety of these soaps, in different scents and colors. You have to take a look!
And don't worry gals, there will be lots of fun ideas for all the girly girls on your list as well. So check back soon for some more unique ideas!

if you're in the area...

I'm going to be a vendor at this show, it is in Herriman, UT. If you are in the area, stop on by and do some holiday shopping! I hear there will be some great things there!

New Item!

My amazingly talented mom designed these luggage tags, and was kind enough to show me how to make them. So on a quick weekend trip to WY to visit my parents, I whipped up a bunch of them.
They are so cute and so useful! They make a great gift, especially for that hard to get person, or someone you know who travels a lot.

They are stiff and hold their shape and have a plastic waterproof plastic to protect the id window. A standard size business card fits into the slot, and it very easy to change your info if you move.

Double snap closure making it extra secure!
Also, it makes locating your suitcase very easy!
Travel in style! Lots more fabrics to come, so check my shop soon to see more!

Wahoo!

I was on the front page of Etsy today with this fun purse! Yay!

And, I broke 2,000 hearts! That means that over 2,000 people have 'hearted' me (marked me as a favorite). Happy day for me, especially since things have been a little slow lately.

Tip Junkie

If you've never heard of Tip Junkie you should check it out. A very fun place of hints and ideas on darling stuff. A friend of mine suggested that I be a part of their "Mom-preneur" Shop-a-thon they have going on for the next few months. So I payed and signed up in the "Purse" category.

I'm just putting in a plug to help support other mom's out there. I've looked around at lots of the sites already on the list and they are full of amazing items! So keep the Tip Junkie list close at hand as you do your holiday shopping!

custom cutie

Here are a couple pictures of a custom order I did. This little darling's mom and I were friends in high school, and have recently gotten back in touch. So fun!

I made her a skirt with a matching headband and clippie...and every little girl needs a purse too! I made a matching zipper tote for the mom as well, and now they can be stylin' together.

Thanks again, it was so fun to co-design this set!

2 year anniversary

Today, October 2, marks the two year anniversary of my first sale on Etsy. It was a black and white linen bag, and I sold it within ten minutes of posting. I am so thankful for Etsy, that it has given me a chance to develop and evolve as an artist.
Enjoy 15% off your total purchase in my shop!

boutique date

For all my local friends out there, the boutique show is October 24-25th. It is in Herriman, UT, and I'll get the exact times and address for you as it gets closer. I've been sewing my little guts out, but hope this stinking economy doesn't effect people's buying decision.

on a side note: I decided to pull my items from Indie Peddler. Things were moving very slowly and I just wasn't selling. It is hard for me to keep all the fabric and items in stock.

Chalk up a bad business move for me. You never know huh?

boutique show signs

So, I finally decided on how to make some signs to put up with my display for the upcoming boutique show. Chalkboards! That way, for future shows, if I decide to change my items, or prices, it's very easy to change.

Here's what they looked like when I purchased them, just a basic wooden frame.

So, I used some painter's tape (some of my favorite stuff) to protect the boards. I then painted them and...
This is how they turned out! I did all the smaller ones that fun green, and the bigger one for my business name, in the pretty turquoise. I bought a couple small easels to prop them up on, and here you go!

I feel so legit

What could these be? And why am I so excited about them?

I have my own labels! Wahoo!

I ordered them from jennifers jewels , a fellow etsy seller. She was great to work with, and I love my labels. I ordered them in two different fonts, and I like one better than the other, but I'll know for next time. I also ordered both the flat and folded kind.
Here is my first item with my tag on it! I'm so excited!

display ideas

Alright, I need your help and ideas! I was contacted through Etsy to be a part of a boutique show October 24-25th in a town about 20-25 minutes away. The show is going to have some great vendors (more info coming about that as the time gets closer), and is located in a huge house that won the 2007 Parade of Homes award.

I am in charge of my own display supplies, such as tables, shelves, racks, etc. I do not have to be present the entire length of the show, so some cute, informative signage is recommended.

I need your ideas on how to display my items. My space is about 2.5' by 6' and it needs to look good. I have a few thoughts, but I am interested in other ideas. The lady who contacted me said she'd like to see my hot pads and zipper pouches there, but I am welcome to sell whatever I'd like.

Are baskets too hard to search through? Is a coat rack too cluttered to display purses? What are some ways to display cute labels and signs? Any thoughts you have would be great!

In my life, this sign is becoming more and more true. I love it, and you can click here to take a look at what else this etsy shop has to offer.

Dig In Dots

A NEW idea for me...a circular placemat for kids! They have an absorbent layer of batting in the middle and are double topstitched around the edge.

They fold up nicely for an on the go trip, or out to eat. 13.5" in diameter. Look for them in my etsy shop...lots more fun fabrics to come!

my latest idea

Hint: kids. food. table.

Thursday, September 11, 2008

Wouldn't the world be better if everyone followed these two simple phrases! I found this fun saying on a fellow etsy shop, "TastySuite " is the shop name and I'm in love with many of the items posted.
